What If...? (2021-TBA)

What if instead of Steve Rogers, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) actually became the first Super Soldier? That creative brainstorming exercise is the heart of What If...?, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first animated series. The anthology reimagines numerous major events from the movies in game-changing ways, and also features Chadwick Boseman, who was able to reprise T'Challa via voice work before his death.

Ms. Marvel (2021)

The Marvel Studios original series centers on fan-favorite Kamala Khan — a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. A great student, avid gamer, and voracious fan-fic scribe, Kamala has a special affinity for Super Heroes, particularly Captain Marvel. However, Kamala struggles to fit in at home and at school — that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life is easier with super powers, right?

Hawkeye (2021)

Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, who teams up with another well-known archer from the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez. Hawkeye is helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie.

Moon Knight (2022)

Moon Knight is a new series created for Disney+. Directed by Mohamed Diab, the action-adventure features a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.

She-Hulk (2022)

She-Hulk, a new comedy series coming to Disney+, stars Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk/Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who specializes in superhuman-oriented legal cases. She-Hulk will welcome a host of Marvel characters to the series, including the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, and the Abomination, played by Tim Roth. The series is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia; Jessica Gao is head writer.

Secret Invasion (2022)

Secret Invasion is a series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos — characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

Ironheart (TBA)

Ironheart is a series coming to Disney+ that stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.

Armor Wars (TBA)

Armor Wars, based on the classic Marvel comic series, comes to Disney+ starring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine who must face what happens when Tony Stark's tech falls into the wrong hands.

I Am Groot (TBA)

I Am Groot features everyone's favorite baby tree in a series of original shorts coming to Disney+.

Trivia

  • During a press conference in October 2014, Kevin Feige confirmed that Phase Four, and even additional phases after

  • Marvel phase 4 timeline
  •  Phase Three, had already been planned or were being planned by saying that "[if] there are more years after 2019, then there will be movies. I hope there will be more years."

  • Spider-Man: Far From Home was originally slated as the first film of Phase Four, but it was later changed to be the last film of Phase Three.

  • Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Marvels, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, I Am Groot, Blade and Fantastic Four were added to Phase Four after the initial announcement.

  • Phase Four is the first phase to:

    • Not have any Stan Lee cameos due to his death in November 2018.
    • Have a film that an actor both starred in and produced.
    • Include television series as well as a television special as a part of its lineup in addition to films.
    • Have no Avengers films and no Captain America solo films.
    • Have a fourth solo film for a character.
    • Have been delayed from its original start date.
    • Start more than a year after the previous phase ended.
